John Michael Maras passed away March 6, 2007, in Tacoma, WA, after an extended hospitalization and surgery. He was born in Hibbing, MN, on June 6, 1947, to John P. Maras and Elaine Boswell. After moving to the Pacific Northwest as a young boy, John graduated from Highline H.S. then joined the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. He returned to the area and completed his education earning a BA from Seattle University. His working life was spent in the Seattle-Tacoma area. John will be remembered as a caring and compassionate man who assisted others in their time of need and who volunteered his time for the betterment of his community. 
He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Maras, his mother, Elaine Boswell (Oscar) and his two sisters, Rosemary Moody and Barbara Galando (Joe) and several nieces and nephews.
