February 2013, I still have a lot of life left in me and so I was asked to join Los Alamos Technical Associates. I write and teach Aviation Security; Port and Maritime Security; Cybersecurity along with Security Operations Management. Additionally, I traveled to India, Dubai, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to taught Homeland Security classes. Fun job, and they paid me!!!! I spent four months in various parts of India, updating the India equivalent of our Homeland Security; gas and oil security along with a port assessment. Upon getting back from there. I taught the Saudi Arabia 50 students about attacks from other countries. One of the emergency notifications was what the 911 operations software was known as 'NEW WORLD." The software that is used today by the 911 centers is what Saudi Arabia is still be used. It was a shock seeing poverty and a third world country.
I was with the USS Hancock (CVA-19) ship board band, playing the saxophone.
December 21, 2012, I have retired from The Boeing Company after 38 years. A great Company and I enjoyed a wonderful career and where I was given a lot of wonderful assignments...most of them anyway. : < )
August 1965 I was in Vietnam for two years and remained in the Naval Reserve for 29 years. While in Vietnam, I was in the Navy Band for special occassions (saxophone player), where I was the lead sax player for MISTY and of COURSE ANCHORS AWEIGH; and Information Specialist during that "on-hours". I have personal pictures of John Wayne and myself aboard the aircraft carrier that I was on. I was also featured in LIFE Magazine as "one of those sailors in San Francisco." During that time, I served with the three Admiral Staff positions in Seattle heading up the Office Automation project; I taught computer classes in Rota Spain; Hawaii; Japan and Whidbey Island. My last assignment was the Senior Enslisted Advisor of the Fleet Training Group and three ships in Seattle. I retired as a Senior Chief Information Specilaist. I miss it still and have so many wonderful military friends.
I have been married and divorce and am married to Juanita my wife of 21 years. I have held positions from Data Center Manager; Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations Planning; Security Specialist and Security Investigator.
I took three years away from The Boeing Company in 1999 and was a Senior Software Engineer for Science Applications International in New Orleans (Before Katrina). I was transferred to Ft Collins, CO where I was the Data Center Manager for the USDA and Continuity of Operations. Then I was fortunate to have been transferred back to the NW where I worked on Homeland Security Port Operations for Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett. I went on a special assignment for Homeland Security in heading up risks and vulnerabilities of the Navy Bases at Indian Island; Whidbey Island; Bangor Submarine Base and Keyport. I then return back to The Boeing Company, where I have a total of 38 years. I will probably keep working until later, as I love my job and the many many many opportunities I have.
I miss a lot of my friends from high school and the military, and now live in Marysville, WA.
We have been to Hawaii where Juanita and I were married on the Beach at Sunset at the military Hotel Hale Koa. We have been to Hawaii many times and love it there. Kauai and Maui are our favorites.
I volunteered for the Everett Police Department and for the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
We have one cockapoo dog...Pippi.
