I was going to call him today 11-26-24, and had been meaning to call...now it is too late...He was a good man.  I am sad that another classmate has passed.   Everyone...If you have been meaning to call or text someone...don't put it off. R.I.P. Guy.

So sorry to hear of Guy's passing. Guy,Sam Cheyne and myself joined the Naval Reserve during the Spring of our junior year at Highline. We were given a choice of 2 weeks bootcamp or the regular 90 day bootcamp. Sam chose the 2 week boot camp and Guy and I chose the 90 day boot camp. The following day after we arrived in San Diego to start training, we were awakened at 4:30am and we both realized that we had made a serious mistake!!  We were pretty much an all Reserve company except for a few Phillipinos so we took alot of abuse from the companies with Regular Navy recruits but we ended up getting a number of awards and I think it was because our company commander thought we were wossies for being reserves   (only two years active duty versus 4 years) so he worked us pretty hard.  Guy was much larger than me so he got to be a squad leader. Needless to say, it was quite a "maturing" process over the summer.  We came back and did our senior year before going active for 2 yesrs.  Guy's family lived on the same street as my grandmother so I occasionally saw him over a couple of years. I don't know if he made a career in the military or not.  It was fun knowing Guy throughout highschool and in the Navy. My condolences to his family.
RIP, my friend.

From Guy's daughter...

If any of his friends/classmates want to send a note to be read at the service please let them know they can reach out.  As of now we are shooting for a Dec 5-7 date.

Guy was a great friend and team mate.  Big, strong, gentle and a true friend. We are all sadden by his passing.  My good friend Dr. Lee Hood (who incidentially invented the first automatic gene sequencers and protein sequencers) has always said, one of the hardest parts of getting old is losing good friends.  It is hard for me to hear of Guy's passing.  My he rest in peace.

Also, it make meet up at our 60th aniversary ever more important.  DAVE

Always the articulate wordsmith, McLeod, but you expressed it perfectly:  Well said, Dave Sabey.  I was always pretty tall out at Olympic but then I met Helm and Bill Combes at Highline and I realized what a skinny shrimp I was!  Guy and I were the same height at Mr. Reamer's 4th grade at Normandy Park Ele, but not for long!

I thought he and Dolackey were the best Cub Scouts in Normandy Park.  I'm so thankful Guy had a great and productive life and wonderful family, he deserved it all!  Rest in Peace, GUY!  I pray for your family.

George Linville
