Hi Dan

Read your nice note about Dave. Dave drove me to college in Los Angeles 50 years ago. We put my little Honda 90 in the back end of his 54 Ford Station Wagon with all my stuf and drove down Hwy 1 all the way, doing all the things 18 year boys free on the road for the first time could and shouldn't do.  We had a great time. We arrived at Muscle Beach and Santa Monica Pier on Labor Day of 1965. We drank beer, watched the girls in bikinis and the men pumping iron on the beach, swam in the warm ocean, drove around LA- our first escape from childhood and a time of great transition. Dave was simple, easy to hang out with, fun and made my leaving home as easeful and pleasant as I could imagine. We all miss him.

bill...good to hear from you.  i did not realize that you and dave were so close and traveled to california together.  i rememeber that during seahurst football dave was the center and you were the quarterback and i was the fullback.  lots of memories. i get back to burien now and then and think about the early years.  when i drive by chelsea park and see the baseball field i think about your dad being my little league coach.  i also remember your moms great pancakes that she would make us the morning after i had spent the night before hanging out with you and your brothers ross and tom.  dan
