I met Ron when we attended Olympic JHS. We were in the same Boy Scout troop that met at the Presbyterian Church at 180th and 1st Avenue S. I watched him ascend in leadership in scouting. Seeing him do that was one of my first realizations that some of us kids were growing up a lot faster than the rest of us. Ron was growing up in terms of understanding team making and project accomplishment much faster than others, including me. He got me to ask myself questions about why I couldn't grow up as well as he was. One day after playing tennis together at the new court at Prince of Peace Lutheran, I thought of asking him about his key to this. But I chickened out.
